Synopsis: The Australian Hispanic Women's Business Network (AHWBN) in partnership with Sydney Latin American Film Festival (SLAFF) present... EL ACUARELISTA (The Watercolorist) - the story of an office worker who decides to leave his mundane life and follow his dream. His greatest ambition in life is that of becoming an artist, more than that, a watercolorist. His way is paved with obstacles in the form of intrusive neighbors. The story is a metaphor for the pressures put on the individual to follow the rest and not do or go against convention.
T' (Iza), the main character is an introverted and sensitive man looking to be left alone but constantly harassed by the aggressive and invasive nature of those who surround him.

In the past moviegoers were lucky if they got to see one or maybe two Peruvian productions a year. The inability to finance films in Peru has contributed to the killing of any and all attempts at motion picture production on a major scale. In spite of this, however, 2008 heralded 5 Peruvian films. This is partly thanks to new talent. New film makers are coming forth every day and Peru is experiencing what could only be described as a cultural boom in Peruvian cinema. It might not be as big a boom as many might like but it is an explosion none the less.
